Interventions to target hunger among students and staff

  Aswan University has improved a Policy to end hunger. Therefore, Aswan University is committed to provide sustainable food and address students and staff needing this support

  • Aswan University provides support for staff and students with affordable food. Forms of support that Aswan university provides, is providing lunch bonuses for students and staff with Subsidized prices, and for free in some cases, according to the University Council Decision No. of 2019 that assure students and staff that have difficulty having their food, to have these service and support. That through the Central Restaurant of the University.

  In light of its social engagement role, Aswan university president Prof. Ghallab said that the university today distributed 100 boxes of food commodities to the irregular employment  in cooperation with Egyptian Family Development Institution headed by Dr. Soheir Al Masry in cooperation with the military forces for supporting the irregular workers among the steps taken to confront the novel COVID-19. In the same context the university advisor for human development Dr. Ahmed Kamel Al Rashedi added that the university is keen on supporting its irregular employment for helping them overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Soheir Al Masry stressed that the Foundation is fulfilling its social role by launching  “Start by yourself to Promote Irregular Employment” initiative through providing them with handouts to ease the life’s burdens in fighting COVID-19.
