\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President, stressed the importance of the role of the Institute of African and Nile states Research and Studies, especially with the directives of the country\u2019s political leadership for the African extension, in confirming on the slogan launched by the President of the Republic to make Aswan the capital of culture, economy and the gateway to Africa, and in order to build Scientific and research cooperation between Aswan University and African universities. In this context, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Orabi – Vice President of Aswan University for Graduate Studies and Research and one of its distinguished scholars – was assigned to supervise the Institute and to develop a scientific and research strategic plan to achieve the goals of the study at the Institute, in light of the reports received from the committees formed by the Supreme Council of Universities, which indicated the weakness of the institute’s current capabilities and recommended a temporary suspension of the study.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dr. Ayman Othman added that we are working on the quality of education and providing a complete educational system by reviewing all the physical and human capabilities of faculties, especially the postgraduate studies stage and the master\u2019s and doctoral degrees within the framework of the directives of the Supreme Council of Universities, and in accordance with the regulations and laws that regulate the educational process and in the same context we are working to open New educational programs that keep pace with the labor market and the country’s aspirations for digital transformation and applying modern learning methods.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalel Orabi_ Vice President of Aswan University for Graduate Studies and Research and supervisor of the African Research Institute, said that since the first day, assigning the responsibility of supervising the institute, he has begun to review the situation and study the report, and he has to develop a future plan to advance the capabilities and outputs of the institute entrusted to it and that The importance of any educational institution does not come from the number of its students only, but what is more important is the extent of excellence of its graduates and their acquisition of knowledge.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This puts the full responsibility on the university administration to ensure the quality of the educational process provided to learners, and to ensure the availability of capabilities for it.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>His Excellency indicated that his vision agrees with the vision of the university administration with the recommendation and report of the committee formed by the Supreme Council of Universities, which recommended working to improve the human and material capabilities of the institute.\u00a0This is also what was discussed and approved by the University Council.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>His Excellency explained his full understanding to students’ desire to register, and this indicates their interest in science and knowledge at Aswan University, and this places full responsibility on its management to provide the required knowledge.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>Accordingly, within the framework of the strategic plan to enhance the capabilities of the Institute of African Research and Studies to achieve its educational, strategic and research objectives entrusted to Egyptian, African and other Arab students to register for its various programs of diploma, master\u2019s and doctoral degrees; The administration of the institute and the university are working to rearrange the house from the inside, based on the recommendation of the Sector Committee of the Supreme Council of Universities. This is done in different ways, including the traditional methods to complete the Academic staff in the various departments of the institute and the administrative apparatus, providing a particular building for the institute, while providing the capabilities of technologically equipped laboratories and halls. And working on revising the regulations to keep pace with the institute\u2019s study systems for modern programs and technologies in education. Including what is represented in the use of digital transformation technology and the conclusion of agreements with many universities to compensate for the shortage of human capabilities. As well as linking the priorities of research topics with the requirements of the African continent and ways of its sustainable development, while working on partnerships and cooperation between the Institute, local and international organizations interested in African affairs.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>It is worth noting that the institute is currently serving about 500 graduate students of diploma, masters and doctorate degrees, and that the administration of the institute is working to carry out its scientific, administrative and research duties towards the enrolled students and we also help them in the various scientific disciplines of the institute in light of the available possibilities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>His excellency mentioned that the Institute should be the destination for all African studies and the academic arm of the governorate and the state with regard to environmental studies of the continent of Africa.\u00a0Accordingly, priorities for study topics at the institute are being prioritized to be in line with Egypt\u2019s 2030 vision for sustainable development and with the national climate strategy 2050.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>Taking into account the existence of a number of agreements with African universities and authorities, with organizing many sustainability workshops and conferences for the African continent.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Finally,\u00a0His Excellency promised to work to achieve the vision entrusted to the Institute soon by assisting all parties to provide the educational process and the required knowledge.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
