With the continuation of rapid urbanization, global population growth, climate changes, and the continued human reliance on transportation means to move around in cities for the next thirty years (including electric ones), all these factors increase the challenges in the cities of the world. Therefore, cities that choose to take bold steps in developing and diversifying private urban transport systems Investing cities in their future in improving sustainable transport enhances productivity, attractiveness and the overall quality of life.<\/span><\/p>\n

Higher education is not far from achieving sustainable development in accordance with the goals set by the United Nations and adopted by world leaders in September 2015 at a historic international summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

And based on the vision of Egypt 2030, Aswan University has taken it upon itself to encourage and improve sustainable transport to and from campus. Changing the culture of daily transportation for Academic staff, their assistants, and university employees, improving their physical and health fitness, and encouraging them to use active means of transportation instead of relying on fuel-consuming and environmentally polluting motorized transportation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, the university is developing a strategy for the “bicycle for every student” project, which was launched by the Ministry of Higher Education as part of the ministry’s plans for sustainable mobility. This strategy aims to support a good and cleaner social and environmental climate, and increase the demand for physical exercise and races among the different groups within the Egyptian universities.<\/span><\/p>\n
