Aswan University is characterized by a distinctive natural location of cultural and civilizational importance, where the dry desert environment blends with the Nile Valley and the Nubian houses with a distinctive Aswan character.<\/span><\/p>

Where the university overlooks a group of islands, including the island of Hissa<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/span>, one of the oldest Nubian islands<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong> of Aswan<\/a><\/span><\/strong>,<\/span> and the name goes back to King Hess, one of the most important kings of the Seventh Dynasty.<\/span><\/p>

Hissa Island is located east of the city of Aswan, between the High Dam and the Aswan Reservoir, next to the Philae Temple.<\/span><\/p>

The houses of the island of Hissa are decorated in bright colors from the outside and inside and inlaid with stones from the mountain to give joy. The Pharaonic, Coptic, and Islamic models are gathered in their architecture, and are distributed on the rocks of the small mountain in beautiful harmony, surrounded by a captivating beauty and purity that is difficult to find elsewhere. The mountains and the river surround them from all sides, which made the pollution rate decrease and the air purity increase, and it is a healthy climate free of diseases, especially for patients with rheumatism and joint pain. The island is warm in winter and hot in summer.<\/span><\/p>

Zoology museum<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/strong> is situated on the fifth floor in the faculty of science building. It cares for a wide range of materials and specimens that covers both invertebrate and vertebrate animals representing the whole of the animal kingdom.<\/span><\/p>

The museum contains so many preserved specimens, skeletal material, anatomical models, glass models of invertebrates and educational posters. All animals found in the museum representing the Egyptian environment.<\/span><\/p>

The museum has been founded in 1990s and the collections are result of funding from Aswan University in addition to research activities of\u00a0staff and students conducted through yearly scientific trips for undergraduates.<\/span><\/p>

Displays and storage within the museum have been updated and improved with the addition of some new samples<\/span><\/p>

Geology Museum<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Geology laboratories and museums are student and research laboratories that take care of the problems of civil society and work to help solve environmental and societal problems, where geology plays an important role in most fields of contemporary life.<\/span><\/p>

The laboratories and the museum contribute to the work of researchers in all departments, as the museum contains a wide range of materials and samples that cover important and rare types of rocks and geological environments from different regions and different countries.<\/span><\/p>

Aims:<\/strong> –\u00a0they are mainly educational museums, utilized in teaching some courses for undergraduate students, which could be used partially in research as well as a place for scientific visits and trips by schools.<\/span><\/p>

Opening hours<\/strong>:<\/strong> –\u00a0Sunday \u2013 Thursday from 9 am \u2013 5 pm.<\/span><\/p>
