Aswan University has a dedicated research center that helps through research, consulting services, and other services to support governments or NGOs in clean energy and energy-efficient technology policy development.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Aswan University has the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/apearc.aswu.edu.eg\/\">Power Electronics Applications Research Center (APEARC)<\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span>is considered a pioneer research and development R&amp;D unit working inside university and targeted industrial societies and companies that provides Consulting to start-ups.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">In addition, Aswan University has a direct involvement as a member in the\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;text-decoration: underline\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usaid.gov\/egypt\/center-excellence-energy\">Center of Excellence for Energy<\/a>. <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\"><b data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">(life of project: February 2019 \u2013 February 2024).<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">The Center is hosted by Ain Shams University in partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, both internationally recognized leaders in engineering, conventional energy technology, and research on alternative energy sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\" data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Moreover, Prof. Orabi, member of Aswan University act as a member for the National Energy and Electricity Scientific Council, which is responsible for evaluating and initiating roadmap for electricity and energy plans into Egyptian government.<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Strategically, the primary objectives are to build local capacity for organization and pursuit of a number of market-driven applied research projects that address Egypt\u2019s needs in the energy sector, while simultaneously promoting an inclusive educational culture that focuses on solving local and global problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000080;font-size: 14pt\">GOALS:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;text-align: justify\">\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Shape energy engineering curricula by updating teaching methods, offering experiential learning opportunities, and developing new courses and degree programs that align university education with the needs of industry and the Egyptian government<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Facilitate joint research projects and visiting scholar programs for Egyptian and American faculty, as well as applied research opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Establish scholarship programs and internship opportunities that deepen cross-border learning and private sector expertise; scholarships will be prioritized for financially disadvantaged students as well as students with disabilities and women<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Build local capacity to pursue market-driven applied research projects that address Egypt\u2019s needs in the energy sector and foster innovations and technologies suitable for commercialization<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;color: #000000\">Convene Egyptian and American energy experts from academia and the public and private sectors to share best practices and breakthroughs in research;
