Today, Aswan University headed by Prof\/ Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Aswan University president _organized a major celebration on occasion of Science Day and the 10th anniversary of its establishment and coinciding with the Egyptian people’s celebrations of glorious revolution of June 30.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The celebration was under patronage of Dr\/ Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar _ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific research_ and Major General\/ Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor_ in Hall of Field Marshal. Hussein Tantawy_ in Sahari_ the event started with national anthem and a minute’s silence for the spirit of Field Marshal. Hussein Tantawy _Former Chairman of the supreme council of the armed Forces_ and he behind the separation of Aswan University from South Valley University by Republican Decree No. (311) for 2012, and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalal_ Director of the International Ranking at Aswan University and supervisor of the celebration with presenting an introductory presentation on the achievements of the university and topping the international scientific and research Rankings.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Aswan University president stated during his speech which he welcomed the attendance of university leaders, Islamic and Christian clerics and faculties deans, and expressed his thanks and appreciation to the political leadership, President Abdel- Fattah El-Sisi_ the President of the Republic_ the patron of science and scholars, especially in light of the university\u2019s celebration of Science Day, which is as engine of comprehensive development in various fields. And Dr. Ayman Othman expressed his thanks and appreciation to the former university presidents, Dr. Mansour Kabash and Dr. Ahmed Ghallab, and former university vice presidents, Dr. Abdel-Qader Mohamed Abdel-Qader and Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali, and all those who contributed to the construction, establishment and development of Aswan University. The event also included a whole week on this occasion, starting from Sunday 26th<\/sup> June to Thursday, 30th<\/sup> June 2022.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Mohamed Abdelaziz Mehalal explained that the university is working to achieve its goals through continuous communication with all academic and educational bodies in the Arab world and the world, and this made Aswan University ranked the first places in international rankings as the best Egyptian university for 2022 and among the top 500 international universities for three consecutive years. According to the British Times Ranking of “THE” and also among the top 100 universities for the second year in a row in the Times Ranking to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, the university is working to graduate a generation of leaders and innovators in various fields of knowledge.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the ceremony, the winners of the university\u2019s scientific awards (discretionary \u2013 encouraging \u2013 scientific publishing) and the best faculties in the international Ranking and the best researchers were honored.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The honors were as follows: the best scientific disciplines according to the British Times Ranking for 2022, honoring Faculty of Engineering which ranked first at the level of Egypt and among the best 250 universities in the world in the field of computer science, honoring Faculty of Engineering in the same Ranking as the first at level of Egypt and among 400 universities worldwide in the field of engineering and technology, And honoring Faculty of Energy Engineering which ranked first at the level of Egypt and among the top 400 universities in the world in the field of engineering and technology, and honoring Faculty of Science which ranked fourth at the level of Egypt and among the best 600 universities in the world in the field of physical sciences, then honoring the best researchers in the international Ranking, which included five scientists From Aswan University among the top 2% of scientists around the world, they are Dr. Mohamed Naguib Rashid, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalal Orabi, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Rashad, Dr. Mohamed Fathy El-Amin and Dr. Salah Mohamed Kamel, then honoring the recipients of state incentive awards in engineering sciences, They are Dr. Salah Mohamed Kamel, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Nasser Mohamed Mahmoud, Dr. Karrar Mahmoud Badawy Mostafa and Dr. Abo Al-Qasim Diab Ahmed Ali, and then honoring the winners of university awards for two years from 2019 to 2021, and also recipients of scientific publication awards, honoring the university\u2019s international Ranking teamwork, and honoring members of the awards committee. The event concluded with a memorial photo with the university president and the audience.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
