Yesterday corresponding to 31st<\/sup> October 2018, Aswan University has organized the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0 Road Bicycle Race in Aswan Al Gadeda with the participation of about 100 students of the different faculties. Prof. Ahmed Ghallab gave the race go-ahead in the presence of the vice president of education and student’s affairs Prof. Hanan Abd Al Moneam Awad, the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman and the head of Aswan Al Gadeda authority Eng. Ahmed Rashad and a range of security leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n

The race had 2 stages, 70 students from the different faculties participated in the first stage, it started in front of Aswan Al Gadeda authority building passing by the university new headquarters then they returned to Aswan Al Gadeda authority building with a 7-kilometers distance.\u00a0While 30 students participated in the second stage that started from Aswan Al Gadeda authority building passing by the university new headquarters then returned to the authority building again with a 3.5-kilometers distance.<\/span><\/p>\n

The student in the faculty of physical education \/ Ahmed Abd Al Naby Ali has achieved the first place in the males’ race. Aswan University offered monetary awards to the first six places of the 2 stages for males and females.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Ghallab said that the race was organized in cooperation with Aswan Al Gadeda authority which provides all facilities for such events referring that the aim of such a race is activating the sports as well as the academic activity among the university students. He urged the students to actively participate in such sports events. In the same context, the vice president of education and student’s affairs Prof. Hanan Abd Al Moneam Awad added that the aim of the race is encouraging the students to practice the sport that will affect positively on their health.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
