\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Today, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Aswan University President – honored Eng. Mohamed Al-Qobtan – Chairman of Board of Trustees of Hangmelha Foundation – in appreciation of the Foundation’s efforts at the university and in implementation of the fruitful cooperation protocol between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Dr. Ayman Othman confirmed that Aswan University participates in all presidential initiatives and works to implement them through its students’ efforts. This comes within the framework of the vision and strategic plan for the country’s sustainable development for the year 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 His Excellency pointed out that within the framework of constructive cooperation between the two parties, the \u201cWe will beautify it\u201d initiative planted 1,100 fruitful trees for lemon fruits on an area of \u200b\u200b2 acres in the farm of Faculty of Agriculture, in order to reclaim the desert and transform desert spaces to green spaces in order to provide food for university workers and the surrounding environment of vegetables and fruits and work To transform Aswan University to an environmentally friendly and productive university, not consuming one. This comes within the framework of the state’s directives, especially as Egypt hosts the International Conference on Climate Change in Sharm El-Sheikh<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0His Excellency added that the Hangamelha Foundation gifted the university 8 thousand fruitful trees, and the initiative planted 20 acres of lemon and orange trees. The initiative also participated in joint cooperation between the two parties in afforestation of Fares village, and 45 thousand trees were planted in the governorate. This works to increase the agricultural area in Aswan Governorate.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Eng. Mohamed Al-Qobtan expressed his great happiness with this honor, stressing the importance of training students on environmental awareness and participating in the cultivation of Al-Tabia Mosque area and Al-Azhar institutes areas, and working on twinning between the institution and the university in the reclamation of desert areas, which aims to cultivate nearly 1000 acres of wheat to combat food poverty, in a practical and scientific way. Through the scholars of Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources, in order to increase the agricultural area and reduce the risks of thermal emissions, and work to establish a number of nurseries for aromatic plants of high economic value. The activities of the presidential initiative began 4 years ago, which was launched by President Abdel- Fattah El-Sisi to plant one million fruitful trees nationwide.<\/span><\/p>\n
