In co-operation with Environmental Affairs Agency Branch, Aswan University launched ”Nile Youth” initiative In order to raise awareness of the importance of preserving the Nile water from different sources of pollution, and continue the activities of this initiative for a week.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\nThe initiative was attended by Prof.Ahmed Ghallab Mohammed-Aswan University President, Dr.Mamdouh El Sayed-General Manager of Aswan Environmental Affairs Agency Branch , Prof.Abdul Rahman Abdul Basset-Supervisor of Environmental Affairs & Community Service Sector in the university, Prof.Ayman Othman-For the postgraduate studies and research, where the activities of the initiative began to stand a minute to mourn the spirit of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sayed Khalil – the late Vice President of the University of the idea of this initiative, which passed away about two months ago.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\n\u00a0Ghallab said that the initiative aims to raise awareness of the sources of pollution that flow into the Nile River and the efforts exerted to address this pollution whether it is industrial pollution or sewage or agricultural drainage, in addition, to spotting light on the role of the university in confronting the pollution of the Nile River with the participation of students and academic staff.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\nDr.Mamdouh Sayed added the government has a great effort to confront pollution in the Nile River and prevent the dumping of raw sewage in Aswan city, based on the instructions of President. Abdul Fattah El Sisi-President of Egyptian Arab Republic during the youth conference that was held in Aswan since 2 years while the government spent nearly 200 Million E.G.P to treat sewage Drainage of the tripartite system instead of the dual system in the two (2-2) sewage stations in addition to the construction of ( Kima 3)\u00a0 to accommodate the future expansions.<\/span><\/h4>\n

\nHe pointed out that 80% of the sources of pollution in the Nile River were destroyed in Aswan after the transformation of the sewage system to the tripartite system based on the instructions of political leadership, also sugar factories in Aswan recycled treatment stations within these factories while the Ministry of Environment overloaded with 20 Million E.G.P For the installation of electronic sensors within these factories linked to the control devices at the headquarters of the Environmental Affairs Agency to follow up the commitment of these factories to environmental standards to prevent pollution of the Nile River.<\/span><\/h4>\n
