Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, attended an introductory seminar titled “Digital Transformation as a Mechanism for Protecting Public Money” as part of the presidential initiative “New Beginning” to build the Egyptian person, which was organized in collaboration with the Financial Directorate in Aswan. Accountant Gamal Mohamed Mahmoud, Head of the Central Administration and Director of the Financial Directorate, and Mr. Abu El-Magd Mohamed Abu El-Magd, Director General of Legal Affairs at the Financial Directorate, attended the seminar, as did a number of faculty members, their assistants, and university students.<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat explained that this symposium is a continuation of activities related to the presidential initiative “New Beginning” at Aswan University, which aims to achieve the initiative’s goals by developing the character of students and university youth, as well as introducing them to the importance of digital transformation as one of the new republic’s principles and strategies in the implementation of Egypt’s Vision 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

This vision, announced in February 2016, outlines the state’s long-term strategic plan to fulfill the principles and goals of sustainable development in a variety of disciplines, while also working to realize them within Egyptian official institutions. Egypt’s Vision 2030 is also founded on the ideas of complete sustainable development and balanced regional development, which address the three components of sustainable development: economic, social, and \u00a0the environmental dimension.<\/span><\/p>\n

The President of Aswan University emphasized that students in the new university community must be aware of the stages of digital transformation and modern concepts that the state aims to achieve, including digitization in its different forms.<\/span><\/p>\n

Accountant Gamal Mohamed Mahmoud, Head of the Central Administration and Director of the Financial Directorate, emphasized the importance of introducing students to digital transformation concepts and how to use the electronic payment system as part of the presidential initiative “New Beginning” in order to preserve public funds. He went on to say that the Supreme Council of Universities has decided that obtaining a digital transformation certificate is a prerequisite for graduate students pursuing academic degrees (diploma, master’s, or doctorate), as well as the requirement for teaching assistants and assistant professors to obtain one in order to train students in digital transformation methods.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof.Abu El Magd During his presentation, Mohamed Abu El-Magd, Director General of Legal Affairs at the Finance Directorate and a qualified trainer, defined digital transformation as the process of integrating digital technology with personnel and processes to propel enterprises forward in new directions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Digital transformation entails transitioning from manual and analogue to digital processes in all parts of work. Financial inclusion is also a key component of the sustainable development plan, with Egypt’s Vision 2030 aiming to expand possibilities for comprehensive growth while maintaining financial and social stability in order to realize the objective of a competitive economy. He said that there has been significant development in the financial inclusion database, with the percentage of financially included citizens aged 16 and up reaching 71% in June 2024, up 81% from June 2016. The presentation also covered the concept of governance as well as the Ministry of Finance’s major mechanization and digital transformation programs.<\/span><\/p>\n
