As part of the ongoing activities of the presidential initiative “New Beginning for human development, the Social Solidarity Unit at Aswan University, in collaboration with the General Administration of University Hostels and Nutrition, organized an introductory seminar about the services provided by the Ministry of Social Solidarity for university students. The seminar was held for female students in the Sahari hostel.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar was opened by Prof. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, who delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the “New Beginning” initiative and its role in enhancing student behavior and developing their creative abilities. He also highlighted that the initiative contributes to building students’ personalities and motivating them to engage positively and actively in various student activities, which helps foster a spirit of competition and provides them with skills that will strongly equip them for entering the labor market.<\/span><\/p>\n

During his speech, Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen explained that the university, in collaboration with the Social Solidarity Unit, has been providing many services for students and staff since the establishment of the unit on campus. He pointed out that the seminar represents an opportunity for open dialogue with the female students to address their inquiries and provide answers. He also reviewed the main services and benefits offered by the Ministry of Social Solidarity to students and staff, encouraging everyone to take advantage of and effectively utilize these services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahmed Ebaid, the coordinator of the Social Solidarity Unit at Aswan University, added that the unit seeks to meet the needs of students and staff through social protection programs, economic empowerment, and awareness campaigns. The unit also works on building students’ personalities and instilling a spirit of volunteering to serve the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ebeid also mentioned the “Comprehensive Youth Empowerment \u2013 Egypt” project, launched by the Ministry of Social Solidarity in collaboration with the British Council and implemented by OBM Educational Services Company. The project aims to support social transformation by equipping youth with leadership skills and active participation, focusing on achieving gender equality and enhancing the inclusive participation of people with disabilities. The project also involves implementing and funding key initiatives on the ground, providing opportunities for students and graduates to participate.<\/span><\/p>\n
