A minor fire broke out at Aswan University Hospital and was brought under control<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat,<\/span> the University’s Acting President, responded quickly and effectively to a report of a confined fire in the basement of the university hospital caused by an electrical short circuit. The fire was completely suppressed, with no serious human or material losses. The fire did not impact the medicine storage or the analytical laboratory, which were both located on the same basement floor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat<\/span> stated that he received a phone call from Major General Ismail Kamal, Governor of Aswan, inquiring about the patients’ condition and the presence of Major General, Director of Aswan Security, during the fire. He also added that the Deputy Head of the Comprehensive Care Authority offered to provide a bed at one of the governorate’s hospitals, but the situation is now completely under control, with all necessary safeguards taken to ensure the safety of both patients and personnel.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that 15 cases were transferred to the higher floors of this structure, one of which was in intensive care, and they returned as soon as the fire was extinguished. He emphasized that the university prioritizes safety and security standards in its health facilities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Ashraf Maabad,<\/span> Director of the Surgical Hospital, indicated that patients near the fire were moved to safe areas within the hospital as a preventive step to protect them from the potential effects of smoke.<\/span><\/p>\n

He stated that the Civil Defense personnel and medical professionals handled the issue properly and efficiently, and that all electrical and safety systems were inspected to guarantee that the incident would not occur again.<\/span><\/p>\n
