Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat<\/strong>, Acting President of Aswan University, today received journalist and writer Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Mahmoud Mosallam, a lecturer at the Faculty of Language and Media at the Arab Academy for Media and Technology, along with the members of the examination and evaluation committee. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the discussion of a master\u2019s thesis at the Faculty of Specific Education, Department of Educational Media, at the President\u2019s Office on the Sahari campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this context, the Department of Educational Media at the Faculty of Specific Education discussed a master\u2019s thesis in Radio and Television, submitted by researcher Rania Abdel Nabi Abdel Wahab Abdel Mageed, entitled \u201cAdolescent Girls\u2019 Exposure to Short-Video Applications (TikTok) and Its Relationship to Their Mood State”. The discussion was held at Ahmed Fawzi Hall at the Faculty of Specific Education, Aswan University, with distinguished academic and media attendance.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat<\/strong> affirmed that Aswan University places great importance on research studies related to contemporary societal issues, particularly those addressing the impact of digital media and social networking platforms on children and youth. He noted that this thesis represents a significant scientific addition in the field of educational media and contributes to a deeper understanding of the effects of modern digital applications on adolescents\u2019 psychological well-being.<\/span><\/p>\n

For his part, journalist Dr. Mahmoud Mosallam expressed his pleasure at participating in the examination committee, praising the high quality of the thesis and its rigorous scientific treatment of a current media issue. He emphasized that serious scientific research in the field of media has become an urgent necessity in light of the widespread use of short-video applications and their growing influence on adolescents\u2019 behavior and overall mood.<\/span><\/p>\n

Researcher Rania Abdel Nabi explained that the thesis aimed to monitor and analyze the nature of adolescent girls\u2019 exposure to TikTok and study its effects on their mood state. She expressed hope that the findings would support educational and media decision-makers in developing awareness mechanisms that reduce negative impacts and enhance the positive aspects of using these platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the discussion, the committee decided to award the researcher the Master\u2019s degree, amid an atmosphere of joy and happiness among attendees and the researcher\u2019s family, in appreciation of her scientific effort and the distinction of her research work.<\/span><\/p>\n
