The Department of Rheumatology and Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University, in cooperation with the European Commission for the Use of Ultrasound in the Diagnosis of Rheumatic Diseases, organized an international workshop on the uses of ultrasound of the joints and the musculoskeletal system, and this workshop is held in conjunction with the International Day of Rheumatology and Natural Medicine.<\/span>
\nThe workshop activities were inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghallab – President of Aswan University, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed Fathy – Conference Coordinator, and Dr. Abdel Rahman Al-Tahan – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.<\/span>
\nGhallab stated that this two-day workshop will be held with the participation of three foreign trainers specialized in the field of sound waves from Greece and Serbia, and this workshop is being held for the first time in Egypt by this European body specialized in this field.<\/span>
\nHe added that Aswan University is keen to hold workshops and scientific conferences periodically in order to exchange experiences and learn about new in all medical fields, which will benefit our patients.<\/span>
\nAnd Dr. Fatima Hussein Al-Nubi – head of the workshop and head of the department of rheumatism and physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine in Aswan, added that the number of participants in the workshop is thirty doctors from various Egyptian universities and one of the universities in the sisterly state of Saudi Arabia, and the workshop deals with many important topics about various joints of the body, such as (wrist joints – elbow – shoulder – pelvis – ankle – knee) and how to deal with diseases and injuries that affect them.<\/span>
\nShe indicated that the workshop sheds light on the importance of using ultrasound waves in the early diagnosis of joint diseases and determining the proper treatment before the patients’ condition deteriorates in order to speed up their recovery.<\/span><\/p>\n
