The Adult Education Unit is concerned with preparing and qualifying graduates of Faculty of Education and other Faculties and teaching staff in literacy and adult Education programs, as the current situation of Literacy and adult education teachers is relying on volunteers, in most cases, they are not qualified educationally to work in teaching for illiterate adults.<\/span><\/p>

  3. Preparing a training unit equipped with learning resources, devices and a training manual for literacy teachers.<\/span><\/li>
  4. Qualifying and training university graduates from different faculties to work in literacy and adult education classes.<\/span><\/li>
  5. Supervising and guiding the teachers who have been rehabilitated while they are opening literacy classes and teaching the illiterates.<\/span><\/li>

    Achievements:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>

    Aswan University Obtains 10th position in Literacy Achievement at the Level of Egyptian Universities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    In the framework of facing illiteracy in our society, Aswan University made efforts in the field of literacy in the April 2021 session, which resulted in obtaining the tenth place in the achievements of the National Literacy Project of the Supreme Council of Universities during the session, that under the care of Prof. Ayman Othman-Acting President of Aswan University-and Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali- Vice President of Community Service and Environmental Development-, and in our believe in the decision of the University Council to oblige all students enrolled in educational faculties (education – specific education – physical education) and faculties of humanities (in which there is field training or courses taught in the name of service or community development) to face illiteracy of a number of citizens during their study period, and accordingly, students of the Faculty of Education in Aswan were able to face illiteracy of 1296 people, Students of Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom in Aswan University able to face illiteracy of 212 people, that under the control of Prof. Rady Abd Al-Majed \u2013Dean of Faculty of Education-, Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abo El-Shekh \u2013Dean of Faculty of Dar Al-Uloom-, Prof. Manal Mohamed Khodary- Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education for Community Service and Environmental Development-, and Prof. Abd El-Hafez Mostafa-vice Dean of the Faculty of Science for Community and Environmental Development-and that with the co-operation with the supervisor of the Literacy and Adult Education Teacher Rehabilitation and Training Unit, led by Prof. Ashour Omari – President of the esteemed General Authority for Adult Education. The students of the Faculty of Education and the students of the Faculty of Dar Al Uloom at Aswan University succeeded in liberating many Egyptian citizens from illiteracy.\u00a0

    Sincere thanks to all the efforts made in the national literacy project at Aswan University, the leaders of the esteemed university and its faculties, the General Authority for Adult Education in Cairo led by Prof. Ashour Omari, and the branch of the Authority for Adult Education in Aswan Governorate led by the Director General, Mrs. Safaa Afifi, and the directors of branches in Aswan Governorate and centers, our male and female students at Aswan University.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    The achievements of last period of the unit:<\/span><\/p>

    1. Preparing standards for the performance of the literacy and adult education teacher.<\/span><\/li>
    2. Preparing the Literacy and Adult Education Teacher\u2019s manual.<\/span><\/li>
    3. preparing a training manual for Literacy teachers.<\/span><\/li>
    4. Holding training courses for graduates and students at\u00a0Faculty\u00a0of Education.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

      Students of Faculty of Education and the University also participated in the literacy of citizens in Aswan Governorate, and the General Authority for Adult Education in Aswan Governorate. The illiteracy of Six thousand five hundred and five citizens were eradicated during the academic years 2020\/2021 and 2021\/2022, through several examination sessions, as follows:<\/span><\/p>
