Implementing to the political leadership’s directives on the necessity of integration between the various sectors of the state in order to achieve Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030, the Ministry of Social Solidarity has initiated the establishment of a social solidarity unit in Egyptian universities in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, through which the Ministry of Solidarity provides a bundled set of integrated social services for university students. .

As the Supreme Council of Universities approved in its session which was held on 15th August 2020, to establish a social solidarity unit in Egyptian universities and recommended that the Ministry of Social Solidarity conclude a cooperation protocol individually with each university, in frame of the desire of the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Aswan University to establish a social solidarity unit at the university, the two parties agreed to conclude a cooperation protocol on Monday, 12nd October 2020, in attendance of:
Her Excellency Ms. Nevin Al-Kabbaj – Minister of Social Solidarity.
His Excellency Prof. Ahmed Ghallab – Aswan university President.
His Excellency Prof. Salah Hashem – Advisor to the Ministry of Solidarity for Social Policies and General Coordinator of Social Solidarity Units.

The administrative structure of Social Solidarity Unit at Aswan University consists of the unit’s coordinator, awareness activities official, and protection and economic empowerment official.
