Our civilized Egyptian heritage is not only our history, but also our future, which we must preserve, and working on its good management, presentation and marketing internally and externally.

The concern of Egyptian universities, especially Aswan University, to establish a center for cultural heritage within the university, directly reflects the university’s concern in assuming its responsibilities towards society in the Aswan Governorate in preserving Aswan heritage, and strongly addressing the obstacles and problems facing heritage within the governorate, and even working to develop and market the elements of cultural heritage in the governorate, and exploiting these heritage elements in activating non-traditional tourist patterns, which is directly reflected on the development of society.

It is also possible to exploit the unique and distinctive cultural heritage of Aswan as an important and effective means for sustainable development within the governorate, and to raise the economic and social level of the people of the governorate.

Hence the idea of establishing Aswan Civilization and Heritage Center (Aswan University) was started for studying the distinguished cultural and civilizational heritage in the governorate, and the Centre is entrusted with the work on preserving, documenting and marketing it.
