In the light of working towards the UN sustainable development Goals, Aswan University has taken upon itself to implement these Goals in collaboration with the community and other sectors other than higher education, in accordance with the commitments in its strategic plan and Egypt Vision 2030. Aswan University initiates and participates in cross-sectoral dialogue about the SDGs. Most of the academic programs for the first academic degree contains courses that have direct and indirect like to the goal of sustainable development meaning. As well as the newly initiated unique programs in agriculture, energy, and engendering. For the program details:
For example in the term of Good Health and Well-being most of the courses in the faculty of Medicine and veterinary deal with this part of the SDG.
In terms of agriculture and environments, Aswan University initiate a special faculty for the sustainable development of natural resources and agriculture with most of the courses dealing with sustainable development of the societies in the urban areas and desert affairs, as well as Faculty of science initiate a special program for the Environmental studies matches with the SDG goals for environmental protection and green environments, also the geology department has several courses for economic resources and sustainability (groundwater, environmental geology, mining, petroleum geology, economic ore deposits)
The energy and development have a strong value for Aswan University that teaching several courses matches with SDG policies in the field of sustainable development policies in both faculty of engineering and Faculty of Energy Engineering
as well as in the post-graduate education for Diploma, Master and Ph.D. degrees, Aswan University initiate new programs to meet the sustainable development strategic plane of Egypt 2030
Aswan University’s strategic plan which has been reviewed and then approved to continue its terms for 2022/ 2023 by the University Council; reinforces its commitment to ensuring that future graduates have basic knowledge on sustainable development and both individual and organizational sustainability and responsibility. For this purpose, Aswan University has taken further steps in order to address the social, economic, and environmental challenges the world is currently facing, and in order to reach the sustainable development goals, all current and future decision-makers urgently need to improve their “Sustainable Literacy “.

There is a vital need to develop tools to raise awareness, assess, and improve global knowledge on Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility among our students, employees, stakeholders, and decision-makers. Development of an MSc program in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security (CCSAFS)
The wider objectives of the project is responding to the needs identified through the development of an inter/multidisciplinary MSc program in Climate Change, Agricultural Development and Food Security that will help promote the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 2, by providing students with the skills and tools for developing agricultural practices, policies and measures to address the challenge that climate change poses for agriculture and food security in the two target countries and in the MENA region.
