Support innovation and technology as a priority in accordance with the national vision, leading to entrepreneurship by developing the work of existing industrial companies (spin-offs) and establishing small and medium industries.

Mission:
Activating and supporting the role of universities, and research and development centers in industrial clusters, production companies, development sectors in the government and the private sector, and excellence centers to solve industry and technology development problems.
The scientific management of these offices, which work on transferring and adapting the results of research and studies, innovations, and inventions to the application bodies within the geographical scope as a priority, and within the
country through the network linking the various offices through the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology,
Goals:
TICO project aims to push the locomotive of technological development in society to activate the role of scientific research, link it with industry, and support trust between them by establishing a network of specialized offices in research and industrial clusters working in the technology transfer and marketing, follow-up research projects, and introducing funding and cooperation opportunities, spreading the culture of the intellectual property and patents

Services provide
-Spreading the thought of innovation and intellectual property within the university community through conducting seminars, workshops and trainings for students, graduates, faculty members and their assistants.

-Create and publish the intellectual property policy of Aswan University.

-Inventory of industry problems and technological challenges in the geographical environment and presenting them to the university administration.
-Participation in the arbitration of many projects, ideas and competitions in the fields of innovation, graduation projects and entrepreneurship.
-Representing Aswan University and participating in many innovation fairs and local and international conferences.
-Inviting donors to conduct workshops and training to build the capacities of faculty members and their assistants to submit research projects and obtain funding.
-Training students, postgraduates, and graduates on entrepreneurship and conducting idea generation and design thinking camps to spread the idea of entrepreneurship and training on technical and financial planning for projects.
-Assisting in qualifying the owners of entrepreneurial projects to join business incubators in preparation for the work of start-up companies.

TICO - Aswan achievements 2021/2022
12- Making field visits to some factories and agencies to confine technological challenges, such as:
-High Dam Lake Development Authority.
The General Authority for Construction Projects and Agricultural Development.
– Directorate of Agriculture.
-Holding company for water and Waste Water .
-Marble and granite factory.
13- The work of the ideas competition was completed to support new technological ideas, and financial support was provided to implement 7 prototypes:
-Sugar cane waste collection machine: Dr. Abdullah Mansour Singer.
– A fast electric charger with a high capacity for electric cars: Dr. Omar Mohamed Abdel Rahim.
-High Capacity Electric Fast Charger For Electric Cars: Dr. Mostafa Mohamed Dardiri.
– Design of a low-cost, high-efficiency power converter unit for photovoltaic systems: Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-Wahhab Jaafar.
- A machine for peeling the hibiscus flower (an alternative to manual peeling): Ragab Hasan Ali Dawood (from outside the university).
-Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP) device: Engineer / Mohamed Abul-Ela Abdo Taha (a freelance electrical engineer from outside the university.
– Autogenous Oxygen Generator: Engineer/ Mohamed Abel-Ela Abdo Taha (a freelance electrical engineer from outside the university).
14- The executive team at the office complex has obtained 20 specialized training courses in the fields of innovation, intellectual property, international cooperation and entrepreneurship to build the capacity of the office cadres. These courses were organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, WIPO and other local and international institutions.
15- Continuing to promote the activities of the office:
150 promotional activities including advertisements, competitions, letters and publications.
16- Attendance and participation in conferences and exhibitions:
– Attending the first conference of “TICO” Technology Innovation and Commercialization Office, November 11-12, 2021, in Cairo.
– Participation in the sixth conference “Upper Egypt in the Heart of the Event” at Tolip Hotel in Aswan – May 2021.
17- Many visitors and beneficiaries of the complex’s services were received, whether students, Academic staff or visitors from outside the university. The total number of visitors and beneficiaries of the office’s services in the years 21-22 reached 180.
18- Examining and evaluating 20 ideas and innovations for innovators and researchers who presented their projects and ideas in the competitions announced by TICO Aswan.

The university’s intellectual property policy has been finalized and presented to the university council. It has been approved and published after making the required reviews.
22-The Entrepreneurship Club team was formed, and more than 1,000 students, Academic staff, their assistants, and employees joined as members of the club.
23-More than 300 students, Academic staff, their assistants and employees were trained through entrepreneurship camps and trainings at the university.
24- (9) student entrepreneurship families have been formed in 9 university faculties.
25- Two competitions were held for students in entrepreneurship, and incentive prizes were distributed to the winners.
26- One of the successful trainees was nominated for incubation at the Nile Green Energy Incubator and was incubated in the incubator program.
27- (3) TV interviews and many press investigations were made about the achievements of TICO -Aswan.
TICO- Aswan achievements 2020/2021
1- Making field visits to some factories and Authorities to confine technological challenges:

2- Ideas contest has been held to support new technological ideas, and financial support was provided to implement 5 prototypes:
– “The solar cooker”: Dr. Tariq Hassan Mohamed.
– Distillation unit using solar collectors: Eng / Ahmed Mahmoud Mehalal Taha.
– Smart Remote Farming control system of scarecrow, for producing a high-quality production: Prof. El-Sayed Abdel-Hamid and Dr. Ahmed Mostafa.
– Wastewater treatment unit using electrostatic discharge plasma: Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb Mohamed Moawad.
– A New technique for Reusing Gray Water: Dr. Mohamed Fikry and Dr. Mahmoud Abdel-aziz Bastawy.
3- A database of manufacturers and the Potential beneficiaries has been created for the collaboration through in the Office’s geographical scope
4- The executive team in the office complex has obtained 15 training courses in the fields of innovation, intellectual property, cooperation in offices and entrepreneurship to build the capacities of cadres; It was organized by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, WIPO, and other local and international institutions.
5- Promoting the office’s activities:
– Announcements of the Innovation Challenge 2030 competition on the TICO Aswan website
– Announcements on Facebook of some of the activities TICO Aswan activities.
– Announcements on the activities of the office at the beginning of training courses and scientific events for university students by members of TICO of Aswan team.

– Printing leaflets and brochures and distributing them to students at the university, as well as posters in many corners of the campus.
6- Visitors and beneficiaries of the services of the complex were received, whether students, Academic staff or visitors from outside the university. The total number of visitors and beneficiaries of the office’s services in 2020 reached 152.
7- Examination of 30 ideas and innovations for innovators and researchers who submitted projects that learned their talents in the competitions announced by the TICO Aswan Announcements.

9- Several guiding models for intellectual property policies were viewed locally and internationally. A proposal for the university’s property policy was written and submitted to Prof. Ayman Othman in preparation for presenting it to the University Council.
