 Local authority collaboration regarding planning and development

Aswan University, as a distinct scientific edifice, offers many forms of collaboration with Aswan Governorate as well as the official authorities in the governorate. Aswan University works with local authorities to address planning issues and development, to ensure that residents are able to access affordable housing. 

Some forms of these services working with local Authorities: 

  • Cooperation with the New Urban Communities Authority  
  • Cooperation with the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources

Aswan University_ headed by Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ University President, in cooperation with the Foundations of hayaa Karima_ Decent Life, and Hangamelha_ “We Will Beautify it”_ participated in planting 1000 fruitful trees in Fares village in the Kom Ombo Centre, which was chosen as the best environmentally friendly village, and among the first green sustainable model villages, in addition to its inclusion in the presidential initiative of Hayaa Karima.
 

Moreover, Aswan University plays a pivotal role as a key partner in the presidential Decent Life initiative, through several purposeful visions and practical ways to improve the quality of life in the poorest rural communities by providing:

  • Providing adequate housing.
  • Providing water and sanitation for disadvantaged families.
  • Providing medical and educational services.
  • Establishing micro-projects for those in dire need.
  • Providing in-kind support on a regular basis to the neediest families.
  • Identifying Problems and challenges in the rural communities in the City of Aswan.
  • Conducting studies, analyzes and developments related to the local rural communities, for example:
  • Addressing the causes and potential solutions of the groundwater problem in “Kustul” village in Nasr El-Nuba.
  • Addressing the causes and potential solutions of water leakage and accumulation on roads in Abu Al-Rish and High Dam regions.
  • Implementation of scientific, medical, veterinary, agriculture, and other convoys in various fields.
  • Execute Educational and outreach programs.
