Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Acting President of Aswan University, declared that within the framework of activating the joint cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the Upper Egypt Development Authority, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Major General Staff / Sherif Ahmed Saleh, Head of the Upper Egypt Development Authority, and the Aswan University working group. Under the chairmanship of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Abo El-Layl – Vice Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the university – and with the participation of some civil society institutions at the headquarters of the Upper Egypt Development Authority.
His Excellency added that this comes within the framework of implementing the objectives of the Upper Egypt Development Authority by participating in Haya karima initiative to achieve sustainable development by providing stable job opportunities and integrated economic, agricultural, industrial and educational projects that serve the poorest villagers in particular and the people of Upper Egypt in general.
It was approved to form joint workshops that meet monthly to assess the performance of development in the poorest villages in Aswan Governorate and to study the results of implementing development projects for these villages with the participation of the university’s working group consisting of: Dr. Mohamed Hussein Barsi_ Vice Dean of Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Radwan Abdel-Radi_Vice Dean of Faculty of Archeology, Dr. Ahmed Al-Damrani_ Assistant Professor at Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Hamada Ragab, Faculty of Social Work, and Dr. Al-Nubi Hefny_Lecturer of horticulture at Faculty of Agriculture, and the working group of the authority included; Major General. Hossam El-Nimr – Head of the Central Planning Department – Dr. Sabri Salah El-Din – Advisor to Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Nasser Adam – Financial Director of the Authority – and Eng. Rehab Fayez – Director of the Technical Office at the Authority – and a group of officials from the Upper Egypt Development Authority and officials of some civil society institutions.
