Faculty of Al Alsun Organizes a Russian Culture Day

As a part of enhancing the cultural relationships between Egypt and Russia, The faculty of Al Alsun, Aswan University organized a Russian Cultural Day. The day was attended by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the manager of the cultural center at Russian embassy Mr. Alexy Tiffanyan, his wife, the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman and the dean of the faculty of Al alsun Prof. Naser Abd Al Razeq. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab said that the faculty of Al Alsun contains several distinct sections as Russian, Portuguese, Korean and Japanese languages that promote the cultural communication between Egyptian people and the people of those nations. He added that the university is keen on organizing such cultural days in cooperation with other countries’ embassies in order to promote the language skills among our students and recently a Korean culture Day was held by the faculty of Al Alsun in the presence of the ambassador of South Korea. For his part, Mr. Alexy Tiffanyan stressed that the Egyptian-Russian culture mixed here in Aswan land where the Russian experts and their families lived in Aswan during the construction of the High Dam in the 1960s. He expressed his pleasure at the Egyptian youth keenness on learning the Russian language. He added that organizing the 1st Cultural Russian Day in Aswan University is coming as a part of celebrating 75 years passed on the Egyptian-Russian diplomatic relations. For his part, the chairman of Russian language in the faculty of Al Alsun  Dr. Mohammed Reyad said that the day included a brief presentation on the Egyptian-Russian relationships history, lyrics show, Russian poetry, a comic dialogue show between an Egyptian boy and a Russian girl. The day also highlighted the Russian civilization, some popular Russian food and drinks were provided during the day.
