Today, the National Council for Women implemented a meeting at Faculty of Agriculture, Aswan University, as a part of the activities of the Campaign of “Anti- Domestic Violence and its Impact on Society,” which is organized by the Council in cooperation with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, represented by Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa, within the framework of the 16-day campaign of activities to combat violence against women. Which the council is implementing this year under the slogan “Be yourself” in attendance of Dr. Hoda Mostafa – Rapporteur of the National Council for Women in Aswan branch – and Dr. Osama Al Hadidi – Executive Director of Al-Azhar International Center for Fatwa – and Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali – Vice President of Aswan University President – and Dr. Reda El Sebaei – Member of the Technical Office of His Eminence the Grand Imam – and Ms. Nourhan Zeinhom and Mr. Mohamed Ramadan_ representatives of the Women’s Complaints Office at the National Council for Women, in addition to a number of Academic Staff and university students.
Dr. Hoda Mostafa explained that the initiative of “Anti- Domestic Violence and its Impact on Society” in Aswan Governorate, as the second governorate after Ismailia Governorate, will address some deeply rooted customs and traditions that contribute significantly to domestic violence practices, pointing to correcting some misconceptions of violence against women within the framework of Family, causes and forms of domestic violence and its impact on children, health disputes and their treatment through dialogue between family members.
Dr. Osama Al-Hadidi greeted the attendees participating in the meeting and praised the cooperation protocol between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the National Council for Women, which aims to reunite the Egyptian family and seek to family cohesion, referring to the good example represented in the house of prophecy, and how intimacy and affection are established in homes and how to combat violence. which results in a lot of corruptions, which may lead to family neglect and influence on work.
Ms. Nourhan Zeinhom gave an introductory speech about the role of the Women’s Complaints Office of the National Council for Women in receiving women’s complaints and working to solve them through a group of lawyers at the governorate level to solve women’s problems, or, referring them to the concerned authorities, pointing to the objectives of the cooperation protocol with the family reunification unit of Al-Azhar International Electronic Fatwa Centre.
It is noteworthy that Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan – witnessed the launch of the activities of the Campaign of “Anti- Domestic Violence and its Impact on Society” in the Executive Council Hall at the governorate headquarter, in attendance of Dr. Hoda Mostafa _Rapporteur of the National Council for Women branch in Aswan_and Dr. Osama Al-Hadidi – Executive Director of Al-Azhar International Center for Fatwa, in addition to a number of religious, executive and popular leaders in the governorate.
