Aswan University participates in the workshops of the national strategy for higher education to achieve sustainable development 2030 in South Valley

        Today, Aswan University, headed by Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, participated in a student delegation and in attendance of Dr. Loai Saad El Deen Nasrat – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs – and Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mohalal – Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs – and a number of Academic staff in workshops. Which is held at South Valley University, headed and under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with participation of 4 universities, namely Aswan University, Luxor University, South Valley University, and Sohag University, which is held under the title “The National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Realizing Egypt’s Vision for sustainable development 2030.

      Prof. Ayman Othman said that the university students’ participation aims to introduce them to regional alliances between universities, factories and companies in Upper Egypt to achieve comprehensive development and work to link the research product with industry and direct scientific research to serve the community. This comes in implementation of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research that was launched last March, which Its provisions included encouraging the establishment of alliances between institutions of higher education and productive, industrial and agricultural institutions, and converting scientific research to an industrial product, in order to find scientific and research solutions related to issues of society and the surrounding environment.

      Dr. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat added that the university is participating with 50 male and female students, with the participation of the University Students Union and a number of Academic staff and their assistants, to participate in a number of workshops to learn students about the concept of the national strategy for higher education, which includes workshops under the title “The aspect of employment and linking to the market Work”, which was lectured by Dr. Ayman Farid Hamza, and another workshop entitled “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, which was lectured by Dr. Majed Ghanima. A number of cooperation protocols have also been signed aimed at qualifying graduates to meet work requirements, by linking students to the labor market, by preparing students and working on training them in order to achieve the real ability to compete in the labor market, by providing them with technical and technological skills in cooperation with Universities, companies and factories in southern Upper Egypt.

      For his part, Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalal explained that the national strategy is concerned with linking scientific research and its outputs with society and industry at the regional level.

It also aims at research and scientific alliances between universities in southern Upper Egypt and industrial areas, and working to meet the needs of society in an integrated framework. This is to maximize and develop the idea of entrepreneurship and work to link it to the requirements of society in light of the development of contemporary and future scientific research methods.

     It is worth noting that the participation included a number of visits by Dr. Ayman Ashour, university presidents and participating delegations, such as a visit to the Institute of Communication Technology affiliated to the Ministry of Communications, and a visit to the Azima Center for Addiction Control. The Minister of Higher Education also inaugurated Building (A) in the university campuses for female students at South Valley University.
