Opening the activities of the University of the Child at the University of Aswan with the participation of 218 students

Aswan University of Children’s University opened the program’s activities for the new and early students, which includes 218 children, in order to develop children’s perceptions and encourage them to understand and innovate.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, President of Aswan University, Prof. Abdel Rahman Abdel Basset, Acting Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ali Abbas Dandrawi, Coordinator of the University of the Child, a number of deans and academic staff, children and their parents.

Ghallab affirmed that the University of the Child is a regular and unified program which is implemented in 34 public and private universities at the level of the Republic in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific and Technological Research. The program targets children aged 9 to 15 years to develop their skills and talents.

Dr. Ali Abbas Dandrawi added that the duration of the study program for the old and new students is 12 days and includes organizing several visits to the university faculties, starting with visiting the medical school and Aswan hospital to know about the medical services provided to the patients. How to predict the occurrence of earthquakes, and also visit the Nubian Museum and know the science of Egyptology, followed by a visit to the Faculty of Energy Engineering to identify the types of new and renewable energy, especially the solar energy characterized by Aswan.

He added that the program also includes visits to the colleges of education and quality education and participation in a workshop on the art of children, and visit the portal and the information center at Aswan University to learn how to create a website and e-mail, and then inspect the laboratories of the two faculties of agriculture sciences and laboratories, Nile Museum and then participate in a workshop on how to create a distinctive creative project.
