Aswan University Launches the Second Forum on Sports Engineering

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, inaugurated the activities of the Second International Forum on Sports Engineering, organized by the university with the participation of the Faculties of Engineering, Sport Sciences, and Energy Engineering. The event was attended by a distinguished group of academics and experts in the fields of engineering, sports, and technology, aiming to promote knowledge integration and the exchange of expertise in the field of sports engineering.

The forum also focused on developing educational programs that reflect the university’s vision of interdisciplinary integration to build a new generation of athlete-engineers.

In his speech, Prof. Loai Nasrat emphasized that Aswan University, through this forum, seeks to develop integrated educational programs across various disciplines in line with technological advancements. This effort is intended to enhance the role of engineering in improving sports performance and faculities. He pointed out that the initiative is a practical translation of the presidential initiative “A New Beginning for Building the Human,” launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

The university president added that the forum serves as a strategic platform to launch a joint educational program linking sports sciences, medical engineering, and energy engineering. This contributes to improving athletic health and developing a conscious generation of sports analysts capable of supporting sustainable development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

During the forum’s events, Prof. Nasrat and the participants extended a message of thanks and support to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, praising his steadfast national stances and his support for Arab causes and the pursuit of just peace among nations. They affirmed their full support for the political leadership in its efforts to enhance national security and achieve the goals of the New Republic.

For his part, Dr. Adel Makki, Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences, stressed the importance of sports engineering in supporting physical performance and developing sports infrastructure, especially with the overlap of engineering fields across various disciplines and sports.

Dr. Mohamed Mahmoud, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, noted that the forum focuses on integrating technology with sports to improve the quality of training and development, aiming to create a new generation capable of keeping pace with modern educational programs.

Dr. Tarek Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Energy Engineering, explained that sports engineering represents one of the pillars of applied mathematics and plays a pivotal role in building communities and developing individuals in light of the tremendous technological advancements witnessed globally.

Dr. Sherine Khairy, the forum’s coordinator, stated that the forum seeks to prepare a strong generation with technical skills and self-discipline to achieve excellence and sports distinction.

The forum’s events included scientific seminars on the integration of sports sciences and engineering, smart stadium development, and sports performance engineering. It also featured practical workshops delivered by a group of experts. The forum concluded with the honoring of several success partners and guests.

Speakers at the seminars included Dr. Mostafa Gomaa, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences; Dr. Mohamed Shaaban, Dr. Mohamed Rifaat, Dr. Mahmoud Abdelaziz, and Dr. Ahmed Mostafa Oweis from the Faculty of Energy Engineering at Aswan University, as well as Dr. Mohamed Esmat. The event concluded with the honoring of participants and guests of the Second Forum on Sports Engineering.
