In light of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi’s Initiative for universities engagement in developing slums and under the patronage of Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim, Aswan University organized a student’s camp for 3 days to develop Al Mansoureya village in Draw. Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab declared that the camp includes 100 students from different faculties. The following works will be done in the village; planting 350 trees, installing water pipes for some houses, maintenance works for some governmental facilities, painting the fronts of the governmental buildings, installing signals of their names, putting different guidance boards, as well as decoration, works. For his part, Aswan University’s coordinator for developing Al Mansoreya village project Dr. Hamada Ragab said that the camp is participated by organizers from the faculties of agriculture, social work, and specific education in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for Comprehensive Development. The camp includes installing 150 signals having the name of the presidential initiative for developing slums. He added that Aswan University organized a two-day medical convey last July to Al Mansoreya Village in light of the same presidential initiative as well as organizing several symposiums on reproductive health, and first aid by the faculties of medicine, nursing, and social work in cooperation with the scholars of the ministry of endowments and Aswan health directorate.
