Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallb honored the university secretary general and the head of the central administration of the university hospitals Mr. Hussin Abd Al Lateef. The honoring ceremony was attended by the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman, the vice president of community service and environmental development Prof. Magdi Mohammed Ali, the executive manger of Aswan university hospitals Dr. Ashraf Meebed, Dr. Essam Abu Al Magd, Dr. Mohamed Salah, a selected group of the university employees and directors general. In his speech, Prof. Ghallab stressed on the surge in university’s and the hospital’s national projects and construction works which are done in a full swing in Sahary branch that occupies 400 acres including the new administration building, the university stadium, the playgrounds complex, the Olympic swimming pool, the beach volleyball playgrounds, the developed faculty of science’s labs, the new garage, the maintenance workshop, the summer and winter theaters. In addition to the development in the university new branch in Aswan Al Gadeda that includes 9 buildings ( the faculties of arts, law, Dar Uloom, Nursing, Medicine, Tourism and hotels, medicine, nursing, Alsun, archaeology and commerce). It became a turning point in promoting the development in the West of Aswan. Prof. Ghallb added that the university medical constructions and the specialized medical centers in Aswan Al Gadeda which are underway represent a paradigm shift in the health system in Upper Egypt among which some have been inaugurated recently as the central care unit that includes 10 beds. Prof. Ghallb valued the active role of the university secretary general in addition to the whole employees in the aforementioned achievements through an institutional work including the development in the University Hospital by adding 300 extra beds, several intensive care units and operation theaters, the new internal medicine hospital which has accomplished by 85%. The internal medicine hospital consists of 5 floors and includes 150 beds. At the end of the ceremony Prof. Ghallab gave Mr. Hussin Abd Al Latif the University Shield for his life-long journey in serving the university.
