Research centers at Aswan seek to promote the research process for supporting scientific researches, establishing the research centers became a very important thing and one of the necessaries’ life, they are considered from the basic foundations to develop communities, nations, and the advanced states which are considered the sources for solving economic and social problems.
1.1 Aswan Power Electronics Applications Research Center (APEARC):
APEARC is a special unit following the department of electrical engineering-Aswan Faculty of Engineering. It has started functioning as a focal point of multi-disciplinary research and education center for the power electronics applications for renewable energy and its service electronically in late 2007. This center was created to be step in the direction of excellence center for power electronics and renewable energy research in Upper Egypt. (APEARC) a pioneer research and development R&D unit working inside university and targeted industrial societies and companies, to create a distinctive, global Center specialized in industrial electronics applications research and to support the research and outreach activities to the problems which face the industry. 1.2 Nanotechnology Research Center:
The center aims to create new electrical materials using nanotechnology sciences and study their properties (electrical, mechanical, and physical… ..) and their behavior in order to improve their performance by changing their composition by using nanometer granules from various other materials. 1.3 Artificial Intelligence Center:
The Artificial Intelligence Center is a special nature Unit that has financial and administrative independence by Article (307) of the Executive Regulations of Law No. (49) of 1972 regarding Universities Organization. Read more
1.4 Environmental Studies and Development Unit:
The environmental studies and development unit was established at Aswan University as a Special Unit and has its financial and administrative independence by decision of the Supreme Council of Universities No. 35 of 1993. This unit is considered a service training organization through a group of researchers and labs covered many applying and scientific sections. Read more
1.5 Natural Hazards Unit goals:
The Natural Hazards Studies Unit aims to contribute to identifying natural hazards such as floods, earthquakes, drought, desertification, encroachment of sand dunes on urban areas and agriculture, siltation in the Lake of the High Dam, sandstorms, etc., and studying them with the aim of finding appropriate solutions to it. 1.6 Tropical Plants Study Unit:
Study of tropical plants unit was opened on Monday,25/5/2015 , the back side of unit included 2500 meter, It was supplied with 7 drip irrigation lines with a length of 75 meters for each line and planted with a variety of drought-resistant plants To see this. Read more

One of the main training courses is “Interdisciplinary Excellence EDUCATIONAL DESIGN 2021 Programme Overview”. This pilot programme will deliver a series of online learning modules, with individual and group activities, focused on developing core competencies for interdisciplinary research (as outlined below) based on economic growth goals, governmental mandates, key Egyptian stakeholder feedback, and international expert consultation. The programme will conclude with individual presentations highlighting practical application of a concept or method to real-world projects.
