The Fish hatchery consists of a hall for fish hatching and a fish nutrition and disease laboratory, which contains a number of laboratory equipment for teaching the practical part of the courses and to serve postgraduate students. The hatchery also contains the manufacturing and biotechnology department, which is a new section under construction.
The goal of establishing the hatchery is practical training for undergraduate students in the faculty on hatchery, production, care and feeding of fish and training on all operations related to Aquaculture.
The hatchery is attached to a fish greenhouse next to it, and it contains 20 round fiberglass tanks with a diameter of 1.7 m, 20 rectangular tanks 2 m x 1 m, and 2 air blowers to pump air with tanks. The greenhouse specializes in the following:
-Implementation of the practical part of the aquaculture program courses
-Training students on the daily and seasonal technical operations of fish production
-Training students to form floating Pellets and fish fodders
-Implementation of graduation projects and research for third and fourth level students
-Conducting scientific research in line with the university research plan
-Providing the possibility of scientific research for postgraduate students
