The aim of the protocol:-
The protocol aims to collaborations between the two parties in implementing development projects, raising efficiency, joint scientific excavations, restoring and developing buildings and archaeological sites, and assessing the relationship between archaeological sites and the surrounding context through targeted studies, activities and proposals to re-employ and exploit those sites in order to raise the level of quality in them by identifying problems And choosing the best ways to deal with it, developing the appropriate strategy to manage these sites, and preparing a master planning in light of its relationship with the surroundings.
Aspects and areas of cooperation:-
1- Participate in preparing programs and plans for managing, developing, and raising the efficiency of archaeological sites.
2- Participation in providing technical support in the inventory and inspection of antique pieces in the stores
3- Field participation through the formation of joint archaeological missions to excavate antiquities; Archaeological survey, maintenance and restoration, as well as for study, registration and documentation
4- Participant and provide technical support to the Antiquities Registration Committees and their inclusion in the Antiquities Registered at the Ministry of Antiquities.
5- Participation and provision of technical support to committees working in museums, whether they are inventorying, examining, raising the efficiency of museums, or amending and updating museum displays
6- Participating in setting up training and field programs of various kinds, workshops and scientific conferences to raise the efficiency of the employees of the Ministry of Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities, as well as students of the Faculty of Archeology for a graduate who is able to keep pace with the needs of the Ministry of Antiquities under the joint supervision of both parties
7- Participate in the technical follow-up of the scientific research of archaeological sites and provide technical support to record and document archaeological discoveries
8- Aswan Archeology College has the first lead in drafting a loyalty section for archeology graduates. It was implemented and the graduates recited it. Therefore, this necessitated the participation between the parties to this protocol in preparing and drafting a code of honor for archaeologists
9- Providing integrated technical support for projects of preservation, upgrading, architectural and urban development, protection, documentation and restoration of archaeological sites and buildings according to the following: –
- Participating in inspection committees and preparing technical reports to assess the current situation
- Participation in technical committees to review ongoing projects, research and advanced studies of the Ministry of Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
- Providing technical support to the ongoing projects through assisting the technical committees in charge of supervisory work
- Participation in the technical committees for the initial and final receipt of the projects of the Ministry of Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
- Participation in technical arbitration committees for projects of the Ministry of Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities
10- Providing advisory services in all fields and projects governing the work of restoration
The development and protection of archaeological sites and buildings
11- Participation of the laboratories of the College of Engineering, Medicine and Science in conducting field and laboratory tests and analyzes required by archaeological sites and organic antiquities
12- Contributing to the evaluation of critical cases that require urgent intervention in protection and restoration and setting restoration priorities for these cases
13- Participate in preparing a plan, programs and evaluation of archaeological areas, assessing the environmental impact of surrounding conditions, and determining risks
14- Participate in preparing a plan, programs and evaluating the work of the missions operating in the field of excavation and restoration
15- Contribute with the Ministry of Antiquities and the Supreme Council of Antiquities in the work concerned with preserving archaeological sites from an environmental point of view and green architecture (GREEN)
Date of effectiveness of the protocol and its duration: –
The two parties have agreed that the period of validity of this protocol shall be three years, starting from the date of approval of the Board of Directors of the Supreme Council of Antiquities at the Ministry of Antiquities, which is (7/30/2018) and renewed automatically unless one of the parties notifies the other of his desire to terminate it at least three months before the end of the agreement.
