Cycling Marathon Events (23rd December 2021)
Today, Prof. Ayman Othman_ Aswan University President _witnessed the activities of launching the coordination of the Cycling marathon, Faculty of Physical Education, in the attendance of Major General/ Ashraf Attia_ Aswan Governor_ and Prof. Adel Mohamed Abdel-Moneim Mekki_ Faculty of Physical Education Dean, Brigadier General/ Yasser, Director of the Governor’s Office, , Brigadier General/ Ahmed Moussa, and Professor Hatem Yousry_ Director of Student Welfare in light of the coordination for the Cycling marathon festival.

Aswan University: It will host the academic year 2020/2021 with a marathon of student activities (18th October 2020)
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_Aswan University President, participated with the students in the sports day, which includes a marathon running from the unfinished obelisk on the airport road to the university campus in Sahari, in which 150 male and 100 female students participated, then the participation of Academic staff, the university president and the dean of Faculty of Physical Education. At the end of the marathon, prizes were distributed for the winners, and the first place cup. The students also participated in the kayak competition at the Rowing Club, in attendance of students from Faculty of Physical Education.
Dr. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ stated that the university has taken all precautionary and preventive measures to confront the new Corona virus,
and working to not to be complacent in implementing the plan set by the university within all sectors and various departments of the university throughout the academic year.
Which coincides with the state’s continuation in confronting Corona virus, in a manner that preserves the safety and health of our students during the academic year, by distributing medical masks to students, observing social distancing, and entering through sterilization cabins.
Dr. Ahmed Ghallab added that the university is working to continue implementing the strategic plan to preserve all affiliates of Aswan University, including Academic staff, employees and students.
This is done by sterilizing all educational and administrative facilities on the university campus in Sahari, including study halls, Amphitheaters, means of transportation, administrative offices, laboratories, etc., with maintaining social distancing. Also, all precautionary measures were taken on the university campus in the Aswan Al-Gadeda, which includes 6 faculties, which are Faculties Arts, Medicine, Archaeology, Dar Al-Uloom, Law, and Commerce. The near future will include Faculty of Tourism and Hotels and Faculty of Dentistry. The university is working to implement the E-learning and E-hybrid systems and work to extend the hours of the Academic day to six in the evening in order to reduce the density of students and to specify two days for each batch of theoretical Faculties, taking into account the application of all precautionary and preventive measures in The six university headquarters in various regions of Aswan Governorate, in order to ensure the safety of students and apply the directives and precautionary measures of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities.
The University president stated that the university Hostels were prepared in the previous period to receive students, and many maintenance and renovation works were carried out for the Hostels buildings, and Periodic maintenance of the buildings, as a permanent integrated medical clinic was established in the Sahari building, from last year and work on its continuous development, And supplying them with medicines and medical supplies in cooperation with the medical administration of the university.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab indicated that the university received 25 thousand male and female students in the university’s faculties, which amount to 19 Faculties and institutes.

Launching the activities of the presidential initiative, sport is national security, for the tenth week in a row
Today, the activities of the presidential initiative “Sport is National Security” were launched for the ninth week in a row since its launch with the beginning of the academic year,17th October 2020, under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Supreme Council of Universities, which was organized by the Faculty of Physical Education in cooperation with the Central Administration for Youth Welfare under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar _ Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Dr. Adel Makki, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education, under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Mohamed Hassanein, Vice President of the Sports Federation of Universities, and Dr. Hisham El Geyoushi_Secretary of the Federation, and in attendance of Dr. Ayman Othman_ Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and in attendance of Dr. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environment Development, Dr. Yasser Abdel-Hamid_ Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ezzat Abdel-Rahman_ Professor at Faculty of Science_ Dr. Abdel-Hakim Rizk_ Vice Dean of Faculty of Physical Education in Assiut, Dr. Mohamed Shamandy, and a group of Academic staff, Aswan University and Faculty of Physical Education, and employees at university

Aswan university president: A sports day for female students within the presidential initiative of “Sport is national security”
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President, stated that the sports day of walking for female students at the university is part of the activities of the National Security Sports Initiative launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi_ Republic President.
The Sunday morning activities began in front of the administrative building of the university on the campus in Sahari, with applying all precautionary measures to confront Corona virus, in attendance of Prof. Adel Mekki, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab confirmed that the initiative at Aswan University is witnessing its fifth week since the beginning of the academic year under the presidential initiative “Sport is national security” and work to implement “our health in our sport” initiative. Aswan University is launching a walking marathon for female students only.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the university stadium, which was equipped at the highest level with a capacity of 2,000 spectators, includes a VIP hall, administrative offices and locker rooms.
And all student activities and football competitions are practiced on it, and several multi-purpose playgrounds have also been completed as basketball, volleyball, beach ball and handball, and today the university has the ability to host student festivals, sports courses and university tournaments that are held in the context of student activities throughout the academic year 2020/2021 In accordance with the directives of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Supreme Council of Universities.
Prof. Adel Makki, Dean of Faculty of Physical Education, indicated that the Faculty has developed an implementation plan for the initiative by allocating two days for everyone to participate in sports every Sunday and Tuesday of every week under the concept of sport has become a way of life.

Aswan University President Witnesses the sports day events for Academic staff and their assistants at the university sports stadium (8th November 2020)
Today, Sunday, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed_ Aswan University President_ witnessed the sports day for Academic Staff and their assistants at the university, as part of the activities of “Sports is National Security” Initiative launched by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi_ President of the Republic.
The activities of the sports day started at the university stadium on the university campus in Sahari with running, with applying all precautionary measures to confront corona virus, in attendance of Faculty of Physical Education Dean.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab emphasized that sport has become a way of life, and in light of the completion of sports facilities at the university, the opportunity has become available for everyone to participate in sports and in various sports.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab added that the university stadium, which was equipped at the highest level and has a capacity of 2,000 spectators from the audience, includes a VIP hall and administrative offices.

Cross Country Race at African Universities Week in Aswan (24th October 2019)
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab – Aswan University President gave the starting signal for the cross-country race organized by the university, this is in frame of the activities of the fourth day of the African Universities Youth Week.
Male and female students from 40 Egyptian and African universities participated in the race. Competitions for students began in front of the symbol of friendship at the High Dam to the headquarters of Aswan University in the sahari with a length of 5 km, while the female students’ race started from the ice factory in the High Dam to the university with a length of 3 km. The race was witnessed by Dr. Abdel-Rahman Abdel- Baset – General Coordinator of African Universities Week and a number of university Academic staff.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stated that this race is part of a series of sporting events organized by the university during the African Universities Youth Week, which also includes competitions for (Football – volleyball – beach ball – swimming – table tennis and others).
Pointing out that these sports activities aim to discover new sports talents and support different clubs and teams, in addition to encouraging students to practice various sports.
