Aswan University Council discusses strengthening the link between Scientific Research and Industry

Aswan University Council held its 162nd session today, Monday, chaired by Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, to discuss a number of educational, research, and administrative issues related to developing the academic system within the university. The meeting was attended by Prof. Ashraf Emam, Vice President for Community Service and Environment Development, the deans of faculties, council members, and Khaled Asran, Secretary-General of the University.

During the session, Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, emphasized that Aswan University is moving steadily toward achieving the state’s vision of building the Egyptian citizen and creating a promising educational future. He added that the university seeks to implement the vision of the political leadership in building the Egyptian citizen through decisions that embody the values of justice and equal opportunity, and that support scientific research as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

He noted that the university is working to strengthen cooperation with universities, scientific institutions, and the industrial sector through partnership protocols that link scientific research with industry, as well as launching startup companies to empower graduates and achieve direct engagement with the labor market.

Prof. Nasrat also reviewed the progress of first-semester examinations for the Academic year 2025–2026, which are being held across 18 faculties and the Nursing Institute, with the participation of 24,000 male and female students, under organized procedures and continuous monitoring to ensure the integrity of the examination process.

The Council approved the awarding of a number of master’s and doctoral degrees to researchers, Academic staff, and their assistants, in addition to approving several academic promotions as part of supporting academic excellence and encouraging research competencies within the university.

Aswan University continues to play its role in advancing the educational and research process and community service, in a manner that contributes to supporting the development strategy and Egypt’s Vision 2030.
