In 2022/ 2023 the percentage of women starting a first degree was 56% this is a very clear indication that Aswan University’s approach in encouraging Women’s applications in underrepresented subjects, through university outreach or through collaboration with other universities, community groups, government, or NGOs in regional or national campaigns, all these initiatives have clearly borne fruit.

Also, there are 66 students with disabilities who were enrolling at Aswan University in 2022/2023. As well around 79 students from developing countries.
Regarding the employees Aswan University in 2022/2023 has 667 Male vs 688 Female, this shows how Aswan university encouraging applications by women even in recruiting.

Aswan University has developed an “Access-And-Participation-Plan 2022-2023″ to address any gap within any group that may be underrepresented, and plans to reduce these gaps.

  • Violence against Women Unit in Aswan University organized a workshop to raise awareness of women’s issues and work to protect them. The awareness day included the importance of dialogue and an introductory overview of the unit, its objectives, and the unit’s future plan in the coming period. The lectures were on the issue of female circumcision, women’s political empowerment, and some other topics related to women and preserving their rights.
  • South Women’s Foundation, in cooperation with Aswan University, organized a workshop to combat violence against women, under the slogan “Unite together to achieve a life free of gender-based violence.” the workshop included wonderful discussions and interaction from the participants about the seriousness of violence against women and its negative effects on women and society, and mechanisms to address it.
