Southern women in Aswan organize a celebration to combat violence against women

     Today, South Women’s Foundation, in cooperation with Aswan University, organized a workshop to combat violence against women, under the slogan “Unite together to achieve a life free of gender-based violence.”

       Safinaz Ibrahim, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Southern Women Foundation, stated that the celebration included a workshop and an artistic carnival and comes within the framework of the events of 16 days to combat violence against women, which this year under the slogan (Unite). The workshop aims to spread awareness among young people_ especially university students_ about the seriousness of violence against women, and ways to combat it and reduce violence within rural and local communities.

        Omaima Ibrahim_ Head of the Media Committee at Southern women Foundation, added that the workshop included wonderful discussions and interaction from the participants about the seriousness of violence against women and its negative effects on women and society, and mechanisms to address it. A carnival was organized that included artistic and sports performances for male and female students of Faculty of Physical Education.
