Aswan university council no. 78 was held under the chairmanship of the university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab in the presence of Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim, the president’s advisors as well as the faculties’ deans. The meeting handled the following themes:
- Initial approval on establishing a Research Center for New and Renewable Energy. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab said that the approval on creating the center was done after a meeting with Prof. Ahmed Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shafee, professor of dye-sensitized solar cells chemistry and the manager of polymer chemistry program in North Carolina State University.
- Approval on enhancing the fields of collaboration between Aswan University and Fudan University, China in the field of scientific research. Approving on the cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the China-Arab Technology Transfer Center and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in the field of the electronic-Irrigation
- Approving on nominating Prof. Mahmoud Fahmy Hegazy, a professor emeritus in the faculty of arts Cairo University and a member of the Academy of the Arabic Language in Cairo, for the Nile Award 2019.
- Mourning the loss of the martyr Major. Amr Farid Abd Al Zaher, son of the dean of Dar Al Uloom faculty.
