In the Context of Enhancing the Education and Scientific Research System at Aswan University: Launch of the “Best Feasibility Study for a Development Project in Aswan Governorate” Competition

As part of Aswan University’s efforts to modernize its educational system and align with contemporary academic programs aimed at producing graduates capable of competing in the job market, Prof. Loay Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, announced the launch of a new competition entitled Best Feasibility Study for a Development Project in Aswan Governorate.” This initiative encourages students from Faculty of Commerce to demonstrate creativity and actively contribute to local community development through practical feasibility studies for development projects designed to serve Aswan Governorate.

In this context, Prof. Hassan El-Shaqti, Dean of Faculty of Commerce at Aswan University, stated that the competition is open to all students of the faculty across all academic years (from first to fourth year), and each student may participate individually. He emphasized that the submitted study must include the following components:

  1. Project Description and its Development Idea
  2. Market Study: Analysis of supply, demand, and competition
  3. Technical Study: Location, raw materials, production lines, equipment, facilities, vehicles and transport, and operation
  4. Financial Study: Capital costs, operational costs, working capital, revenues, income statement, payback period, return on investment
  5. Practical Applicability: The project must be feasible within Aswan Governorate and demonstrate a clear societal impact
  6. Brief Presentation: A slide deck or video presentation not exceeding 5 minutes
  7. Projects must be submitted in both Word and PDF formats

Additionally, students are encouraged to share their projects on their personal Facebook pages and tag their project supervisor’s page to boost engagement and collect votes from the local community through social media platforms.

The deadline for submission is April 22, 2025. Projects will be evaluated by a specialized academic committee, in addition to public voting through social media.

The winners will be announced, and prizes awarded during a special ceremony organized by the faculty at a later date.

Competition Prizes:

  • First Place: 1000 LE + Certificate of Appreciation
  • Second Place: 900 LE+ Certificate of Appreciation
  • Third Place: 800 LE + Certificate of Appreciation
  • Best Presentation Award: Special prize of 300 LE

All accepted participants will receive official certificates of participation from the Faculty of Commerce.
