In a significant step towards enhancing fruitful and constructive collaboration between higher education institutions and deepening the positive impact on improving the performance of academic and administrative staff, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between Aswan University and the Institute of Leadership Development.
This cooperation aims to develop and enhance the capacities of Academic staff and university leaders in alignment with the university’s sustainable development goals and higher education institutions.
The protocol was signed under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of the Ministry’s commitment to supporting joint cooperation between Egyptian universities and specialized training centers. Representing Aswan University in the signing was Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University and Chairman of the Faculty Development Center, while the Institute of Leadership Development was represented by Dr. Karim Hammam, Advisor to the Minister for Student Activities and Director of the Institute.
Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat emphasized that this protocol aligns with Aswan University’s vision to enhance the skills and capabilities of its Academic staff in line with the current challenges facing higher education.
He added that the cooperation with the Institute of Leadership Development will have a significant positive impact on improving academic and administrative performance at the university, and will also contribute to strengthening ties between the university and the local community, aiming to prepare university leadership cadres that foster mutual collaboration between the university and its surrounding environment.
For his part, Dr. Karim Hammam affirmed that the Institute of Leadership Development places special importance on training and qualifying university staff to better meet the needs and demands of the labor market, deepening leadership and strategic planning skills. He also noted that this protocol represents a new step towards expanding cooperation with universities in Upper Egypt, as it will play a major role in offering training programs focused on refining leadership and educational skills.
The protocol includes an annual action plan to implement a range of training activities and scientific workshops aimed at developing the leadership and educational skills of Academic staff and their assistants. It also includes the organization of cultural and scientific events aimed at promoting national culture and social belonging. Additionally, the protocol involves supporting research and educational projects that contribute to community development.
Dr. Abdel Moneim El-Gilani, Director of the Faculty Development Center at Aswan University, praised the signing of the protocol, expressing the Center’s commitment to the optimal implementation of the joint programs through organizing workshops and training sessions tailored to the needs of Academic staff and aligned with the rapid changes in the educational environment.
