Flag salute and national unity inaugurated the academic year at Aswan University

In an honorable national scene, Prof. Loay Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, attended this morning the ceremonial lineup of the Faculty of Physical Education and the flag-raising ceremony, in celebration of the start of the 2025/2026 academic year. The event was held at Aswan University Stadium in Sahari, with a large attendance of students, Academic staff, and university leaders.

The ceremony witnessed distinguished official, religious, and military attendance, including: Anba Bishoy, Bishop of the Diocese of Aswan and its affiliates; Sheikh Samir Khalil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf in Aswan; Colonel Ahmed Kamal, Commander of the Military Sector in the Governorate; along with a group of executive and security leaders, including Mr. Mohamed Youssef, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity; Dr. Nasser Selim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Eng. Ahmed Sedky, Chairman of the Board of Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Company; and Eng. Hesham Kamal, Chairman of the Board of the Hydro Plants Generation Company.

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat emphasized that the university is not only a sanctuary for knowledge, but also a platform for building well-rounded national character. He pointed out the university’s commitment to supporting students academically, psychologically, and socially, in line with the directives of the political leadership, which consistently affirms that education is the engine of development. He added: “We will continue to provide full support to every student, no matter the challenges. We will remain a pillar for students of determination and those in need, so that no one is deprived of the light of knowledge due to financial or physical barriers.”
