Under patronage of Ms. Nevin Al-Kabbaj _ Minister of Social Solidarity, and under the supervision of Prof. Salah Hashem – Advisor of the Ministry of Social Solidarity for social policies and General Coordinator of Social Solidarity Units in Egyptian universities.
In light of concern of the social solidarity units in Egyptian universities to integrate students with special needs within the university community by opening communication between them and their colleagues.
The Social Solidarity Unit at Aswan University organizes the ” Sign Language Basics course” as a first step to open communication between students of deaf and hard of hearing people with their colleagues.
The course will be held at Faculty of Specific Education at Aswan University From 30/11/2021 to 2/12/2021.
The events of the second day of training students on the basics of sign language, which targets students of Faculty of Specific Education, Aswan University, whereas Mr. Mostafa Ghaly – sign language trainer_ addressing many important axes, he explained the implications of the sign language and the basics used to differentiate between signs, supported by examples, and how the parts of the body can be employed in sign language, explaining some signs constants, whereas the trainees were learned to how to draw sign letters using the fingers of the hand and clarify modern signs.
The day was concluded by introducing each student from the audience about the letters of his name in sign language in application of what he was trained on, whereas the trainees praised the training and benefited from it and broke the barrier between them and their deaf and hard of hearing colleagues in the Faculty by opening communication between them and also integrating them in training and working on helping them to learn sign language directly from them, and they also praised the role of the Aswan University Solidarity Unit in overcoming all the obstacles facing students to benefit from the training.
