Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Aswan University President_ Dr. Mohamed Abdelaziz Orabi _ Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs – Dr. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshoury_ Dean of Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Council – and Dr. Ashraf Mebed – Executive Director of University Hospitals – Dr. Thanaa Abu Talib – Dean of Faculty of Archeology – in light of the mutual scientific cooperation between Aswan University, represented by Faculty of Medicine, and the Italian University of Milan, represented by the archaeological excavation mission in the Aga Khan region in Aswan.
Dr. Ayman Othman said that within the framework of the cooperation to be established in the near future between Faculty of Archeology_Aswan University_ and the Italian University of Milan, a scientific examination was carried out of a number of newly discovered mummies, which date back to the late era and the Greco-Roman era, in order to prepare reports and conduct scientific research and study in the department of CT scan at Aswan University Hospital.
Dr. Ashraf Mebed added that Aswan University hospitals have many modern medical devices, scientific and medical laboratories that serve the scientific and medical research process, and fruitful and constructive cooperation protocols between Aswan University and international universities in many medical and research specialties.
Dr. Thana Abo Talib explained that radiation was done for 7 mummies, and this was done in her presence, as well as Dr. Ahmed Farman, Vice Dean of Faculty of Archeology for Community Service and Environment Development, and a number of Academic staff and their assistants. Dr. Ashraf Mebed and Academic staff of the Department also attended. Radiology at Faculty of Medicine_ Aswan University_ and was attended by Dr. Abdel Moneim Saeed_ Director General of Aswan and Nubia Antiquities Region, and the inspectors of the region, as well as Dr. Patricia_ Director of the Italian Mission, and members of the archaeological mission.
