An introductory seminar entitled “Financial Literacy and Inclusion” in collaboration with Banque Misr

As part of enhancing cooperation between educational institutions and financial institutions to raise financial awareness among students, Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, attended the activities of the introductory seminar entitled “Financial Literacy and Inclusion,” organized by the university in collaboration with Banque Misr. The Banque Misr delegation included Dr. Hany Ali Mohamed Ali, Deputy Director of the Public Figures and Universities Department, Mrs. Laila El-Basyouni, Head of Financial Literacy, Mr. Ali Mohamed Ali from the Public Figures and Universities Department, and the team from Banque Misr for Aswan branches and regions.

Prof. Loai Saad El-Deen Nasrat, President of Aswan University, emphasized the importance of expanding the cooperation between the university and Banque Misr, especially in activating the banking services provided to students, which would benefit them and help ease their financial burden. He highlighted the significance of facilitating electronic payment procedures, using smart cards, and other banking services that support students in their daily lives and enhance their financial culture. He also noted that this seminar was the second to be held at Sahari Campus, commending Banque Misr’s efforts in providing such awareness programs.

The university president added that the collaboration between Banque Misr and Aswan University aims to achieve a fruitful partnership, aiming to increase awareness among students in the fields of entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, and stressing the importance of these training programs in enhancing students’ knowledge and empowering them to manage their financial resources wisely. This, in turn, supports the achievement of sustainable development goals within the context of the new republic.

For their part, members of the Banque Misr delegation praised the awareness of Aswan University students and their eagerness to actively participate in the awareness activities and programs organized by the bank.

Laila El-Basyouni emphasized that Banque Misr places great importance on enhancing joint cooperation with universities in the field of financial literacy and inclusion, which helps spread financial culture among students, assists them in managing their personal finances, and prepares them for the labor market and the pursuit of economic prosperity.

At the end of the meeting, the Banque Misr delegation reviewed the main services the bank offers, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to adopting the concept of financial inclusion and being one of the first banks to support all activities related to financial inclusion and literacy. They mentioned their participation in a similar seminar at Faculty of Commerce, which focused on the role of banks in promoting financial literacy and inclusion.

It is worth noting that this seminar is part of Banque Misr’s ongoing efforts to expand financial literacy among youth and students, aiming to build a sustainable financial community that contributes to achieving Egypt’s economic and social development goals.
