Aswan University Participates in the 33rd Congress of the Egyptian Pediatric Surgical Association

Under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab and Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ahmed Ibrahim, Aswan University is taking part in the 33rd Congress of the Egyptian Paediatric Surgical Association which is held in Aswan city with the participation of 180 Egyptian and foreign experts. The opening session was witnessed by the vice governor of Aswan Maj. Gen. Saied Hegazy, Aswan university vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman in addition to the head of the Egyptian Paediatric Surgical Association Dr. Ahmed Medhat Zaki.

Prof. Mohammed Al Debeiky, professor of pediatric surgery in Ain Shams University and the Association’s secretary, said that the Congress will last for 3 days; it aims at developing scientific research system in the field of pediatric surgery, it includes a workshop on “Enhancing Scientific Research and International Publishing” and another workshop on ” Training on Endoscopic Surgery in Pediatrics “, he added that the Congress focuses on developing treatment and surgical methods as well as facing the complications that can affect children during the different surgeries and how to deal with it. He referred that 12 countries from Europe, America in addition to Arab and Egyptian physicians participate in the event.

 For his part, the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman said that according to the directions of Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the university welcomes the cooperation with all the different civil society’s organizations, especially in the medical field for serving Aswan community . He added that the faculty of medicine is considered a vital body in Aswan University; it provides its medical services to all patients from Luxor to Aswan directly after the great surge following the university separation from South Valley University in 2012.

Dr. Mohammed Al Shenawy, general surgery consultant in Ain Shams University and the advisor of the minister of higher education for international relationships and agreements concerning scientific research affairs said that the ministry is keen on participating in the global congresses to achieve interaction between young physicians and the foreign experts referring to the continuous improvement in Egyptian universities global ranking where 19 Egyptian universities are involved among the best 1200 university at a global level out of 25000 universities.
