In frame of the concern of Aswan University, headed by Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _Aswan University President_ in scientific research by participating in scientific and research conferences, a team of Aswan University scientists participated in response to the invitation from Ain Shams University to Aswan University to represent Aswan University in a meeting of Egyptian-German experts dialogue on climate change and based on the directives of Prof. Ayman Othman_ Aswan University President _ to agree to participate in this joint scientific meeting.
Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz Mehalal_ Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research_ nominated Dr. Mohamed Najib Rashid_ Professor at faculty of Science and Director of the Environmental Studies and Development Unit at the university, to represent the university in this important event. Dr. Mohamed Najib Rashid represented the university by attending the meeting that It was entitled “Towards COP27 – Challenges and Procedures for Dealing with Climate Change, Water and Weather in Egypt.” The scientific team also participated in the workshop entitled “Estimating the effects of future extreme weather from climate change and simulating scenarios.”
Mohamed Najeeb Rashid also headed the working group on technology and solutions to address climate change. This dialogue included a group of experts from German and Egyptian universities to present and discuss joint experiences in this field, which resulted in important recommendations in this field, of which Aswan University had a share regarding the impact of climate change on Lake Nasser.
