Aswan University President witnesses the first scientific forum Events for graduate studies and research

Today, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman_ Aswan University President, witnessed the first scientific forum for graduate studies and research that organized by Faculty of Education in Aswan entitled “Procedural Research and Evidence-Based Teaching”, and in attendance of Dr. Radi Abdel-Majeed Taha _ Faculty of Education dean _ and under supervision of Dr. Suad Jaber Mahmoud_ Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research _ Dr. Ahmed Kamel Al-Rashidi _ Former Dean of Faculty of Education – and Dr. Nadi Kamal Aziz _ Director of Quality Assurance Centre at the university – Dr. Said El-Qadi _ Former Dean of Faculty of Education, and Mr. Abdel-Karim Lotfy_ Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in Aswan, and a group of Academic staff, their assistants in the faculty, and researchers.

Prof. Ayman Othman emphasized the state’s interest in the scientific research system and working on linking scientific research with the requirements and issues of society, which achieve progress and prosperity for peoples, and that what Aswan University had achieved in terms of advanced scientific positions and research and scientific Rankings at the level of international universities that is the result and efforts of researchers from scientists and graduates of Aswan University in various specialties. This is the first forum that deals with procedural research and one of the most prominent modern approaches for the professional development of teachers, because it helps the teacher to overcome the problems that faces him in the classroom.

For his part, Dr. Radi Abdel-Majeed added that the establishment of this forum is based on the fact that the teacher is one of the most important inputs to the educational process, and the most impact on educating young people, and accordingly the quality of the next generation and its specifications are determined, and that any reform targeted to the community stems from the educational effects that he leaves in His students’ behaviors, minds, and morals; The teacher is the starting point, and the driving force for any school development or reform.

This is the first forum organized by the Graduate Studies and Research Sector at the faculty, which includes procedural research, situational research, or work-oriented research, It is a scientific research, But it represents a type of applied research that aims to test hypotheses and theories and use their results to solve practical problems.

Dr. Suad Jaber_ Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research_ explained that it activates procedural research in cases of change in institutions and organizations, as the activities are among the basics of development carried out by major institutions under the management of specialized researchers to improve the institution’s strategies, practices, and organizational knowledge, and thus the activity of institutional development and academic research in the same time, It is one of the best entry points for professional development for institutions and individuals. Evidence-based teaching and, more broadly, evidence-based practices are the result of that procedural research; It provides evidence of success of a particular practice or procedure, and this approach is not limited to one particular speciality, but these practices are found in all specialties in medicine, engineering, education and management.
