As part of a new step to strengthen Aswan University’s community role and enhance cooperation with local community institutions, the Faculty of Social Work at Aswan University has announced the launch of a new pathway for partnerships and cooperation with various institutions, organizations, and entities across Aswan Governorate. The initiative aims to support the state’s efforts to achieve sustainable development and build human capacity.
Prof. Ashraf Imam Abdel-Rady, Acting President of Aswan University, emphasized that the university is working to expand its network of partnerships with community institutions, based on its belief that the university’s role extends beyond education and scientific research to active participation in addressing community issues and supporting development plans.
Prof. Ashraf Imam stated that human development is at the heart of genuine development, stressing that Aswan University is committed to being an active partner for all community institutions in the governorate by utilizing its scientific, research, and training capabilities to serve citizens and support the state’s development and human-building efforts.
He added that the Faculty of Social Work represents an important model of this role, given its academic, scientific, and research expertise, as well as its ability to prepare qualified professionals capable of addressing social issues and contributing to community service.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed Gaber Abbas, Dean of the Faculty of Social Work at Aswan University, affirmed that the faculty aims to establish a broad network of partnerships with government institutions, NGOs, civil society organizations, and service providers, thereby achieving genuine integration between academic education and the realities of the community.
Dr. Mohamed Gaber pointed to the importance of enabling students to move from the classroom into the real world of work and gain practical experience through direct engagement with the needs and challenges of the community. “Therefore, we are opening the doors of the faculty to every institution with a genuine desire to cooperate, because successful partnerships create more experienced students, stronger institutions, and a community that benefits more,” he said.
He explained that the faculty is working to develop a database of institutions and organizations interested in current or future cooperation, particularly in the areas of student field training, training and professional development, community projects, studies and research, and the exchange of expertise, in preparation for the academic year 2026/2027.
The faculty invited all entities and institutions interested in cooperation to register their information through the electronic form.
