In the light of president Sisi’s declaration that Aswan is the capital of the African Youth 2019, a delegation from Aswan University headed by Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab met the minister of youth and sport Dr. Ashraf Sobhy to discuss the required preparations to host African Universities Week that is scheduled to be held from 19th to 25th October 2019. The delegation included Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, the vice president of graduate studies and research Prof. Ayman Othman and the dean of the faculty of physical education Prof. Abd Al Rahman Abd Al Baset. In the same context, Prof. Ghallab said that the meeting handled the coordination with the ministry of youth and sport to take part in the sports events that will be held during the African Universities Week through preparing youth housing in Aswan for hosting the African universities’ youth delegations in addition to preparing Aswan Sports Stadium for organizing the different sports events. He added that the university’s delegation held a meeting with the head of Egyptian Universities Sports Federation Dr. Sobhy Hassaneen to organize sports contests that will be held during this week and addressing the African Universities Sports Federations to participate in it. Prof. Ayman Othman said that the Championship will witness considerable participation from African universities youth that numbers 800 students.
