Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed _Aswan University President, Prof. Hatem Rabie – Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Culture, Prof. Ahmed Awad – Head of the Cultural Development Fund, Prof. Saad Farouk – President of South Upper Egypt Cultural district, and leaders from the Ministry of Culture, The opening of the African Book Fair was on Wednesday 16/11/2017 at the university headquarters in Sahari.
The opening witnessed Artistic performance by Aswan Folklore Troupe, that presented a Nubian singing performance during the opening, and Prof. Ahmed Ghallab presented the Aswan University shield to the participating guests.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab stated that the exhibition comes under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture on the sidelines of the third African Cultures Interaction Forum, and includes 20,000 books, varied between cultural, social, historical, and other things, and will last for 7 days at the university’s headquarters in Sahari.
He also pointed out that the exhibition is opened throughout the day in the fields of science, arts, culture, literature and others at nominal prices supervised and supported by the university, and an opportunity for students in different departments to come to their residence and study, which is a great opportunity for cultural and educational activity.
Ghallab stressed that the university has a major role in participating in African cultures through the University’s Institute of African Studies, which has activated the study in it through this year.
