The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces receiving proposals for projects of applied research and economic technological solutions for the transfer and localization of technology and the enhancement of local manufacturing in the field of water desalination to bring advanced technologies to Egypt through knowledge and collaboration with international partners, in addition to localizing the manufacturing of key water desalination components. This announcement comes within the framework of the TTPD/DLM program, which was launched in February 2023. All interested parties from Egyptian universities (governmental/private), research institutions, research and development units affiliated with industries, and companies operating in the relevant field can access the details and fill out the application form through the link.

In frame of activities of the technological development sector, the TTPD/DLM program is one of the executive programs of the Academy to achieve the strategic goals of science, technology, and innovation in Egypt by 2030. These goals prioritize technology production, transfer, and localization within the third executive plan of the Academy for 2022-2026. The plan aims to enhance partnership between academic and industrial sectors to achieve economic growth, with assistance of the state in reducing import bills, boost the competitiveness of the national industry, and deepen local manufacturing. The TTPD/DLM program covers various fields such as electric vehicles, food and agricultural machinery and technologies, industrial biotechnology, water desalination, and renewable energy, in line with national priorities.
