Aswan University, headed and under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – University President – and in attendance and supervision of Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz – Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research – and a delegation of deans of faculties and professors of the university participated in the closing ceremony of the simulation model of the Conference of the States Parties to the Nations United Convention to fight corruption in a hotel in Aswan.
Prof. Ayman Othman added that this model is held in cooperation between the Administrative Control Authority, the Economic Governance Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and Aswan University, under the auspices of Major General/ Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan – with the participation of 150 students from Aswan University and the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
Dr. Louai Saad El-Deen Nasrat – Vice President for Education and Student Affairs – indicated that the university students in the activities of the simulation model for the opening session of the conference achieved a great success, which earned all respect and appreciation from the participants and attendees. Whereas male and female students represented the different regional groups, and groups of participating countries, and many executive leaders in the governorate, university and academic participated in the closing session simulation activities; And headed by Major General / Ashraf Attia and representatives of the Administrative Control Authority, headed by Major General / Khaled Abdel-Rahman – Senior Undersecretary of the Administrative Control Authority – and Mr. / Jason Taylor – Director of the Governance Office at the USAID – and Prof. Ismail Abdel-Ghaffar _ President of the Academy Arab Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.
For his part, Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz, representing Prof. Ayman Othman, expressed his happiness to participate in this important event. He also welcomed the guests to the land of civilization, the capital of Arab and African youth, and the southern gate of Egypt, the land of Aswan. In his welcoming speech to the participants and guests, he also pointed out the importance of joint work and constructive cooperation between the parties to develop students’ skills and provide them with concepts of transparency and fighting corruption, as well as their acquisition of teamwork skills and how to effectively present and represent their goals and vision. His Excellency also referred to the university’s role in working to combat corruption through digital transformation, as well as the university’s ability to achieve 67th place globally in the ranking of universities related to the goals of sustainable development.
